The Messiah at Benaroyal Hall Seattle

In December, Steve and I were invited to go along with the SPGs (Singles Pleasing God) to see the MESSIAH in Seattle. This has become a tradition for the SPGs, but for Steve and I it was our first adventure to see the Messiah.

Of course, before we got to Seattle we stopped at Claim Jumpers for a bite to eat. Can we say FULL?

After our bellies were full we headed down to Seattle for a great evening. The hall was beautiful and the orchestra and singers did a marvelous job. It was awesome!

Where Have I Been - "Snippets"

Snippet #1: So many things have happened since I last blogged. Back in June 2010 my dad found out he had Stage 4 lung cancer. But on November 13, 2010, just 10 days after his 75th birthday, he passed out of this world. Since then my life seems different. It is like I've been looking through another set of eyes. Things that seemed important at one time, are not as important now. Experiencing the death of a loved one is very difficult, but I thank the Lord for being faithful and true and for all the support I received from my family and friends.

Snippet #2: February 26, 2011 Steve and I celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary.

Snippet #3: In March of 2011 Steve and I went back to see my mom and helped her clean out my dad's garage - we had a "Manly-Man" garage sale. Steve just about sold everything within 3 days. It was hard seeing my dad's "stuff" (others may view it as "junk")go for pennies, but in the end mom had a garage that was clean and could actually house her vehicles.

Snippet #4: In August, Steve celebrated his 47th birthday.

The grill was a present from me and the apron was from Mrs. Sargent. Steve has become quite the griller!

Snippet #5: Shortly thereafter, my sister and I traveled back to see mom in September and to celebrate her 78th birthday. Mom is looking well, but she is very lonely.

Snippet #6: November is always a great month because we love to be around family and friends. Since all of our family is out of state, we got to spend time with friends. Thanksgiving Day was spent with the Hower's and what a meal Tess put on. She is a super great Southern cooker! There was a whole slew full of people there, which made the day even more fun.

Snippet #7: This month I just celebrated my 47th birthday and can't believe I am just 3 years away from 50. Now that's crazy.

I would have posted sooner, but it has taken me about a month to figure out how to get back into my account. I have other things I want to post, but that will have to come a little later.
