First Snow of the Year

Well we have been hearing about the weather to come on the news for a few days now and the system has finally arrived. We woke up this morning and found 3 inches of accumulation on the ground. It is beautiful!

I love seeing the snow fall and the trees and ground covered with these beautiful, and unique snowflakes. We are expecting it to be in the 20's over the next couple of days.

It is a bit chilly outside, but the beauty of this season is just breath-taking. I know this scene is nothing for those of you who live in the Midwest or the North Eastern part of the United States, but for these parts, snow only comes to the Island a couple times a year. So we tend to enjoy the fluffy stuff when it appears.

Don't forget to take time out to make a snow angel, build a snowman, or an igloo or better yet, make yourself a hot cup of cocoa with whipped cream, build a fire in the fire place and stay inside.

Make sure that you put a peppermint marshmallow in the cocoa:)
